We had an opportunity to speak with David Shanin, owner of Flow Components USA in Mulberry, FL. The business opened in October 2005. Hear more about the path that led him to this great opportunity.
WHEN DID YOU START FLOW COMPONENTS?
Flow Components USA was founded 1978; in October of 2005 I purchased Flow from its founder due to retirement. Flow Components is a leading industrial manufacturer and distributor, providing quality industrial products, skilled workmanship, and knowledgeable service in the areas of flow, pressure, temperature, and level control. The founder started the business out of his home and today we offer 22,000 different products that service power generation, mining, food, construction, and de-watering.
Since 2010, I have been working with the SBDC on a marketing plan to expand internationally to South America. Since late 2010, we have been to Panama four times, and in December of 2012, I was part of a business delegation of 116 Florida companies headed by Florida Governor, Rick Scott to export to Colombia. To meet our customers’ needs and become more competitive globally, in December of 2012, we passed the ISO9001 certification and acquired a state-of-the-art water jet.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE ROLLOVER FUNDING?
Because it is approved by the IRS (Len showed me the IRS approval letter!) and was the only way available for me to buy Flow Components. Without the rollover, I wouldn’t have been able to do it! I can’t speak enough of Len (Fischer) – he is competent and delivered on everything he said he would and is always available to answer my questions.
WHAT’S INVOLVED IN THE BENETRENDS BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION SERVICES?
Customer Service is over the top – I can’t speak enough about Elaine. I usually work with her on annual filing of the 5500 report and any other business administrative work I need during the year, Elaine is very competent, cheerful, trustworthy, and always goes beyond the call of duty to make sure the job is done right and on time.
